Pangong Lake

Magnetic Hill

Khardung La Pass
Considered as one of the popular places in Ladakh, Khardung la pass falling under the Leh district in Ladakh is at a height of 17,582 feet. This route is the most famous bike trip route in India. This was the highest motor-able pass in the world until 2013 – 2014. This pass is the main way for villages like Shyok and Nubra from Leh. The oxygen level is low here so it is advisable to not stay at this pass for more than 30 minutes and must keep your eyes covered to save them from heavy winds.
The pass is mesmerized with the beauty of the mighty Himalayan Mountains and everything looks surreal. March-May and September-October are the best times to visit Khardung La pass.
Nubra Valley
Nubra valley is one of the most beautiful places, known for its Orchards, scenic vistas, Bactrian camels, and monasteries. It is the northernmost part of Ladakh situated about 150 km from Leh. Its original name was called Ldumra which meant the valley of flowers. The Nubra valley is at an altitude of 10334 feet above the sea level, it is a deep-cut gorge created by the combined effects of Shyok and Nubra rivers. One of the major specialities was Diskit monastery; it is the largest gompa in the valley and it was built in the fifteenth century . It will offer you a spectacular view of the valley. A gigantic tall statue of Maitreya Buddha is located a few hundreds meters away from the monastery. For experiencing the best time in Nubra you can visit in April – June , and September – October.
Shey Monastery
Shey monastery, a beautiful and artistic place, was built in 1655 in the memory of Deldan Namgyal, his late father, Sengge Namgyal. Shey attracts many travelers because it is famous for its giant copper with gilded gold statue of a seated Shakyamuni Buddha. It is known to be the second largest statue in Ladakh. Buddhism followers are attracted to this place from across the world. Several illustrations, paintings, and beautiful art pieces are also a major attraction of this place. Shey Monastery is located on a hillock in shey , 15 km to the south of Leh in Ladakh. The best time to visit Shey is between July and August.
